LANSING, Mich. (News 10) - University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Lansing has earned a “platinum” designation from the Michigan Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health, recognizing the hospital’s care for pregnant patients and new mothers.

The designation marks the fourth consecutive year the Lansing hospital has received the organization’s highest level of recognition.

The platinum designation places UM Health-Sparrow Lansing among a select group of Michigan hospitals recognized for their commitment to maternal safety, health equity and patient outcomes.

The recognition follows another recent honor for the hospital’s maternity services. In April, UM Health-Sparrow Lansing earned a four-ribbon designation on Newsweek’s “America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2026” list. The hospital was one of 12 Michigan facilities recognized nationally for providing high-quality maternity care.

“Earning the MI AIM Platinum designation for the fourth year in a row, alongside top national honors from U.S. News and Newsweek, reflects the unwavering dedication of our team to every mother and baby we serve,” said Tonyie Andrews-Johnson, director of women’s and pediatric services at UM Health-Sparrow Lansing.
